Project Description:
The Mainstay Suites in Port St. Joe was the brainchild of Developer David Warriner. David is the President of Tapper & Company, owner of The Port Inn just down the road. Identifying the need of an extended stay location in the area with the necessities of home, Mr. Warriner contracted with Interim Hospitality located in Tallahassee Florida for a feasibility study. Upon its completion, it was concluded that Mr. Warriner’s intuition was correct. In moving forward with construction documents from Choice Hotel based on a new prototype model of the new Mainstay Suites Brand, he knew this was the one for Port St. Joe.
Soon after, he spoke with friends and colleagues regarding competent contracting firms that could complete his project in a timely and cost effective manner and Riley Palmer Construction Company was selected. Immediately, we reviewed the documents and negotiated a GMP.
The project consisted of a 3 Story, 37,400 sf Extended Stay Hotel with 67 suite type rooms with full baths, a small living area and a full kitchen with some rooms having balconies. In addition, the hotel included a small guest kitchen, guest laundry facilities as well as a full commercial laundry facility, a fitness center and a swimming pool.
Riely Palmer Construction Company has been listed as a preferred contractor for Choice Hotels for our high level of quality and innovative design achievements for the Mainstay Suites Project.
