Residential Construction Project: Sunroom Addition
Owner: Alex Sanchez and Patsy Sanchez
Designer: Rodney Wilhite
Size: 200 sf
Completion: August 2019
When Alex and Patsy Sanchez decided to add a sunroom to the back of their home, it was important to them that the new addition would blend in seamlessly.
“I wanted this to look like something that had been there a long time,” Alex said. “Not something added to the house.”
The Sanchez’s Realtor recommended Rodney Wilhite with Riley Palmer Construction Company. Rodney previously worked on some of the older homes in the Lafayette Park area, she explained.
Alex agreed that Rodney’s experience would be advantageous when it came to their sunroom addition. They chose RPCC to take on the project.
“It was great dealing with Rodney and his team,” Alex said. “[He] was just very involved and it was great.” RPCC lifted the new sunroom to the same level as the rest of the house to ensure that it would blend in with the original structure. The new space is air conditioned and includes glass windows.
The Sanchezes were very pleased with how the sunroom turned out. They would recommend RPCC to their family and friends, Alex said, because of Rodney’s excellent work and attention to detail.
“It’s just beautiful,” Alex said. “It has an old brick wall that we selected, so the brick on the house is almost 100 years old.”
Alex and Patsy’s ultimate goal was for the sunroom to blend in with the rest of their home, and RPCC delivered.
“Everyone asks,” Alex said, “was this part of the original house?”
